The benefits of mindfulness and meditation are numerous and in adults it has been shown to positively influence the brain including impulse control, decision making, perspective taking, emotional regulation, learning and memory.
As we become more aware of how children, as young as preschool, are becoming sensitive to the effects of stress, the importance of mindful practice increases. The simple games, visualisations and breathing exercises used in my work can help develop and optimize each clients capacity to reduce their stress and improve their executive function (attention, rationale, emotional regulation and memory retention).
The practices I use are aimed at empowering each client, from preschool to adult, giving them the ability to be in the present moment without dwelling on the past or trying to anticipate the future.
